Australian Consulate General in Bali Supports Media Workshop on Fact Checking and Critical Analysis in the Regional Context

CHANNELBALI NTB | Australia’s Consul General in Bali, Ms Jo Stevens, officially opened a one- day workshop on Fact Checking and Critical Analysis in the Regional Context for local media representatives from Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on 24 May 2024.

Today’s workshop, led and organised by Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) Denpasar and supported by the Australian Consulate-General in Bali, featured speakers from both Indonesia and Australia who shared their independent views and experience with participants.

In her opening remarks, Consul-General Stevens said Australia supported “the development of a strong, professional and sustainable media sector in partner countries, including in Indonesia and across the Indo-Pacific.”

This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Australia and Indonesia. Consul-General Stevens noted that, “this anniversary is not only a milestone in our diplomatic relationship – it is a time for all Australians and Indonesians to come together to reflect on our shared connections and celebrate our partnership. This workshop highlights the close relationship between our two countries”.
