The 41st AMEM Welcome to Presents Harmony and Peace

CHANNELBALI Nusa Dua | The sparkling lights shone on the park, which was full of ASEAN delegates who gathered to enjoy a welcome dinner at the 41st ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM).

The guests were greeted by the performance of the Cendrawasih Dance, depicting the harmony and peace of nature in Nusantara. Besides, the Barong Dance, as a symbol of goodness and believed to attract positive energy, was also presented to open the welcome dinner.

This harmony and peace are what the representatives of ASEAN countries want to build. This positive energy is also expected to reflect unity in working together to achieve common goals, particularly in the ASEAN countries’ energy sector.

Director General of Electricity, Jisman Hutajulu, as ASEAN SOE Leader of Indonesia, encouraged the ASEAN Delegates to keep collaborating harmoniously and positively, as described by Cendrawasih and Barong Dance.

“This dance demonstrates how a coordinated cooperative movement will produce positive outcomes. We hope that this will reflect our shared commitment to work together in the energy sector,” added Jisman.

Furthermore, Jisman also said that Indonesia warmly welcomed the delegates arrival in Bali, which is rich in culture.

“It is an honor for us to welcome all of you to Bali, the Island of the Gods, a place known for its rich culture and heritage,” said Jisman to Channelbali.com, 25/8/2023

As the visitors were served a variety of Balinese cuisine while listening to Indonesian traditional music, the atmosphere of the evening became more joyful. Even some of the delegates seemed to enjoy the atmosphere by shaking their bodies along with the music.

Shinichi Kihara, Japan’s SOE leader, said that he greatly enjoyed the food and surroundings in Bali because they made him feel at ease.

“The food is very delicious, and the weather is nice,” he said.

The welcome dinner, which is organized to introduce the original cuisine and Indonesian culture, is also an opportunity for delegates to get to know each other in a more relaxed atmosphere before attending the whole program of the 41st AMEM until the weekend.

Before closing his remarks, Jisman also encouraged the delegates to discover the beauty of Bali, which has a wide variety of arts and cultures.

“Please take the time to visit other beautiful locations in Bali and enjoy your time here. We have a slogan in Indonesia: you must visit Bali at least once in a lifetime,” concluded Jisman. (DR)
